Spring

Summer

Autumn

Autumn sweeps over the Canadian landscape in breathtaking waves of only the most stunning colours–ruby reds and fiery oranges, golds richer than honey and everything in between. The chill in the air brings with it sweater weather and steaming mugs of apple cider, freshly-baked slices of pumpkin pie and fruits and vegetables ripe from the harvest. Squirrels scamper up and down the trees, their bushy tails twitching and their mouths near-bursting with nuts. That unmistakable crunch of leaves beneath every footstep fills you with satisfaction–you can hear it now, can’t you? Go on, close your eyes and give it a try. And while you’re at it, give autumn candy a try too–because no fruit matches the spectacular autumn colours better than sweet, juicy mangoes.

Winter

In spite of frozen fingers and icy roads, nothing is more magical than a Canadian winter. Thousands of snowflakes whirl from the sky to kiss the earth in a blanket of pure white. Every frigid inhale burns our lungs, and every exhale sends a plume of fog spiralling into the piercing grey sky. Mittens damp from snowball fights hang over the fireplace. Outside, icicles as clear as crystal decorate the eaves, glistening in the dawn light. A silence that falls with the snow, muffling every footstep, every whisper. In the evening, the horizon fades like an old photograph to indigo instead of black, and when the sun rises it streaks the sky vermillion.
